The Tampa 2 is a defensive football scheme, a variation of the zone-based Cover 2 defense, made popular by Tony Dungy and Monte Kiffin with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The defense aims to prevent big plays by forcing short completions and making tackles at or near the line of scrimmage.
